OBIT WILKES, WILHELMINA BLANCHE
WILKES, Wilhelmina Blanche, 86, of 1294 Lynch Road, Altavista, died
Tuesday, December 7, 1993, in St. John's Nursing Home. Born in Bedford County,
November 6, 1907, she was a daughter of the late Sam and Mollie Kenneth
Wilkes. She was a retired employee of The Lane Company and a member of
Leesville United Methodist Church. She is survived by one niece, Geraldine
Johnson of Altavista; three nephews, Ray Plymale and C. D. Johnson, both of
Altavista, and Harold Johnson of Newport News; one great niece, June Plymale
of Charlotte, N.C. and one great nephew, Billy Plymale of Blacksburg. A
funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Leesville United
Methodist Church by the Rev. Gene McMutt. Burial will be in the Kenneth Family
Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and
other times at the residence of Ray Plymale, 1296 Lynch Road, Altavista.
