NORTHSIDE WHIPS RADFORD 69-52

Northside's defensive pressure forced 21 turnovers by Radford, and the Vikings won 69-52 in a non-district boys' basketball game Saturday night.

Maurice Garrison led Northside (2-0) with 18 points, and Justin Porterfield added 11.

Casey Underwood led Radford (2-2) with 18 points.

William Fleming 70\ Heritage 54

LYNCHBURG - The Colonels used a pressing defense to pull away in the third quarter and come away with a non-district victory over the Pioneers.

Reggie Reynolds led William Fleming (3-1) with 23 points.

Derrick Hines, who hurt his Achilles' tendon Friday night in a loss to GW-Danville, did not play for Fleming. Coach Burrall Paye said Hines' ankle was not swollen Saturday, and he hoped the junior point guard might be able to return to practice Monday.

LYNCHBURG - Derrick Reid scored 17 points to lead the Hilltoppers past the Eagles (0-2) in a non-district game.

Tri-Cities 82\ Roanoke Valley Christian 80

BRISTOL, Tenn. - The Eagles (1-3) missed a layup with 10 seconds left in the second overtime, and Tri-Cities held on for the victory.
