OBIT PAINTER, EVA RITCHIE

PAINTER, Eva Ritchie, 85, of Meadowview, died Friday, December 17, 1993 in the Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born August 1, 1908 in Washington County, Va. She was the daughter of the late David G. and Mary Davis Ritchie. She was a member of the Meadowview United Methodist Church and a retired teacher in Washington County Schools. She was a lifelong resident of Washington County, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Graham Painter Sr. and one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Painter. She is survived by two sons, Joseph Graham Painter Jr., Blacksburg, Va., David Sidney Painter, Arlington, Va.; one brother, David G. Ritchie Jr., Johnson City, Tenn.; one granddaughter, Elizabeth-Joy Sydney Painter, Atlanta, Ga.; and one grandson, Charles Joseph Graham Painter, Arlington, Va. Funeral services for Mrs. Eva Ritchie Painter will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 19, 1993, in the Meadowview United Methodist Church with the Rev. Connie Mack Farmer and Rev. Harry W. Hight Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Holston Conference Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, December 18, 1993 at the Farris Funeral Service in Abingdon. Pallbearers for Mrs. Painter will be Kenneth Parker, Craig Kendrick, David Wohlford, Bob Vessey, Hayter Brown Jr., Hayter Brown III, David D. Brown and Charles D. Brown. Farris Funeral Service of Abingdon is in charge of arrangements.
