EARNINGS

Bassett Furniture Industries Inc. of Bassett on Wednesday reported net income for its fiscal year ended Nov. 30 was $25.9 million, or $1.79 per share, on sales of $503.8 million. Sales were off 6 percent against 1992 income of $27.5 million, or $1.91 per share. Sales were up 6.4 percent over $473.4 million a year earlier.

Fourth-quarter earnings were $7.98 million, or 55 cents per share, based on $133.4 million in sales. Net income was down 9 percent from $8.78 million, or 61 cents per share, and sales were up 1 percent over $132 million.
