BLACKSBURG - A meeting of the Artists' Network originally scheduled for March 2 has been postponed until MondayMarch 7. The meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Blacksburg Unitarian Fellowship, 1301 Gladewood Drive. Wally Jaeger will speak on cooperative marketing strategies for artists.

Fractal theorist at RU

RADFORD - Fractal theorist Richard Voss will speak at Radford University March 15 at 7 p.m. His talk is part of the Radford University Honors Program symposium on peace issues.

Voss - who has worked extensively with Benoit Mandelbrot, the "father of fractals" - will use computer-generated imagery and animation to illustrate practical uses of fractal theory.

Noam Chomsky at RU

RADFORD - Renowned linguist and political activist Noam Chomsky will be among the guest speakers this month during the Radford University Honors Program symposium on peace issues.

Chomsky will speak Monday, March 28, 7:30 p.m., in Preston Hall.

The author of several books, including Towards a New Cold War, Chomsky will speak on issues of war and peace.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor won the prestigious Kyoto Prize for basic sciences in 1988.

Robert Wood, dean of the Center for Naval Warfare Studies at the U.S. Naval War College, will speak Thursday, March 31, 7:30 p.m. in Heth Lounges A and C. He'll talk on "Moral Responsibility and Civic Duty in a World of States."

Sea Chanters

PULASKI - The Sea Chanters chorus of the United States Navy band will present a free concert at Pulaski Middle School, Pico Terrace, on Tuesday March 22 at 7 p.m. The 20-voice chorus will perform a variety of music including patriotic songs and Broadway show-stoppers.

The concert is free, but tickets are required. Send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Navy Band Sea Chanters Concert, P.O. Box 1127, Dublin, Va. 24084, or pick up tickets at the continuing education office in Godbey Hall on the New River Community College campus.
