TV Q&A

Q. How can I write to the producers of "This Old House" to get my historic home on the show? - S.H., Lansdale, Penn.

A. To have your old house considered for restoration on the PBS how-to show, send a letter explaining your proposed project along with any photos you may have to: New Projects, This Old House, WGBH, 125 Western Ave., Boston, Mass. 02134.

Q. Recently my husband introduced me to a television show he used to watch as a child called "The Courtship of Eddie's Father." We are aware that Bill Bixby is deceased; however, we were wondering if Brandon Cruz, the adorable young actor who played Eddie Corbett, has ever appeared in any other roles. - P.P., Philadelphia.

A. After Eddie ended in 1972, Cruz, just 10 then, did some guest roles on TV ("Love Boat," "Gunsmoke," etc.) and some overseas films. By the time he was 18, he had pretty much dropped out of the Hollywood scene. He maintains a modest lifestyle now in a California town north of Los Angeles.

Q. Where can I get a video of Super Bowl XXVIII? - J.B.M., Tyler, Texas.

A. NFL Films has just released "Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl XXVIII Champions" ($19.95). The 47-minute video features highlights from the Cowboys' entire season, with emphasis on the January championship game. An NFL Films representative says a video of the entire game is not available.

Q. I am an avid fan of Michael Dudikoff, who is on the syndicated TV show "Cobra." I've seen all of his movies, and I love the show, but I can't seem to find out anything about him. Please, help me by printing it in this column. - K.E.B., Tampa, Fla.

A. Dudikoff, star of the "American Ninja" movies, plays ex-Navy SEAL Robert "Scandal" Jackson in the Stephen Cannell syndicated action show, "Cobra." The actor is from Redondo Beach, Calif. He moved from modeling to acting in the 1970s with a guest appearance on "Happy Days." He landed a starring role in the 1982 ABC series "Star of the Family." Dudikoff spends his spare time tinkering on cars and motorcycles. He says he gets a thrill driving the Shelby Cobra car on "Cobra," one of the most expensive and limited automobiles in existence.

Q. "Jeopardy!" is my all-time favorite TV show. But, years ago Art Fleming was the original host. Then, it wasn't quite so high-brow. Also, not such big payoffs. I would love to see it as a one-hour prime-time show instead of all the trashy talk shows. It would be a step up for TV. - N.P., Texas.

A. An answer two weeks ago named Alex Trebek as the host of the 10-year old syndicated "Jeopardy!" series but failed to mention that a network version of the game show, hosted by Art Fleming, aired from 1964 through the mid-'70s. Thanks for all the calls and letters.

Q. We know how Lucy and Desi Arnaz's marriage ended, but has it ever come out how Lucy and Ricky Ricardo's marriage ended? - T.F., Buffalo, N.Y.

A. It didn't. The Ricardos' TV finale came on the April 1, 1960, episode of "The Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz Show." The Arnazes were in the process of divorcing at the time, but the Ricardos' marriage will last forever in reruns. "I Love Lucy" (with restored footage in each episode) joined the Nick at Nite lineup last month.

Q. We have quite a disagreement at work about the name of a TV character's name. What was the name of Jeannie's sister in the series "I Dream of Jeannie?" - V.M.M., Phoenix, Ariz.

A. Barbara Eden played Jeannie and her mischievous sister, Jeannie II, who wanted Capt. Nelson (Larry Hagman) for her own.
