NEW RIVER PEOPLE IN BUSINESS

PAULA J. WILDER of Blacksburg is the new executive director of DiscoveryWorks, a children's museum in Radford.

Her professional experience includes teaching reading and math, developing curriculum for the Ford Foundation's Television Arts Project and serving as principal of two schools in Greenfield, Mass.

Wilder's priorities for the next two years are to fit museum programs to community needs, to form partnerships with organizations having similar goals and to develop a regular schedule of quality exhibits and programs. She is forming advisory councils for the arts, sciences and humanities.

Liflan Inc. announced the appointment of J. ROBERT YOST as vice president of construction. He will supervise all residential and commercial construction. Yost was formerly president of CWY Inc.

Comprehensive Computer Services of Christiansburg recently announced three appointments. SANDRA L. GALLAGHER of Catawba is a sales facilitator, NICK WOOD of Roanoke is a small business account manager and E. Murray Hammond, also of Roanoke, is a corporate account executive.

ANNIE Q. TAYLOR, a senior buyer for Virginia Tech's purchasing department, has been certified as a trainer in purchasing and materials management by the National Association of Purchasing Management. Taylor is president of the New River Valley chapter of the National Association of Purchasing Management.

DENNIS DUNCAN, vice president and manager of the Blacksburg office of Mortgage Service America, was recently a featured speaker for several Mortgage Loan Production Clinics across the country.
