VIRGINIA WINS STATE TITLE

Cole Kelly and Simon Cooke led Virginia to a 16-shot victory in the 45th annual Virginia Intercollegiate gold championship at Hot Springs on Tuesday.

Kelly shot a 3-under-par 69 on Tuesday, and Cooke added a 72 to help the Cavaliers to a 36-hole total of 1-under-par 575 at The Homestead resort's Lower Cascades Course, giving Virginia the title for the 22nd time.
