Salem woman in book of poetry

Diane Caldwell, daughter of Fritz Kehn of Salem, recently published a book of poetry called "There is a Power: Inner Reflections."

Caldwell's daughter, Tiffinie, 17, illustrated the book.

Caldwell also has had poems published by the National Library of Poetry and received its Editor's Choice Award in 1993 and 1994.

Caldwell, a graduate of Glenvar High School, currently resides in Huntsville, Ala.

The book is available at Ram's Head and the Salem Museum.

Women's group installs new officers

Rhoda Woodson was recently installed as president of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Blue Ridge Post 484.

Other officers for the 1994-95 term are: Renva Wilson, senior vice president; Virginia Bower, junior vice president; Ann Saunders, chaplain; India Harris, guard; Ola Shortt, conductress; and Ruth McGlothlin, secretary and treasurer.
