OBIT-HALL, MARTHA ANNE

HALL, Martha Anne, 66, of 1809 Oakwood Street, Bedford, died Saturday, January 1, 1994 at the Brian Center, Fincastle. She was born in Roanoke on August 9, 1927, a daughter of the late John T. Williamson Sr. and Elizabeth Lucille Lawrence Williamson of Roanoke. She was an elementary school teacher and reading specialist for several years in California, Guam and Taiwan. Upon retirement from teaching in 1983, she supervised student teachers for Fresno State University in Fresno, California until 1989. She was a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church and an active participant in Daughters of the King. She is survived by her husband, W. Dean Hall, Bedford; one brother and sister-in-law, John T. Williamson Jr. and Jo Williamson, Arlington; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Kenneth Baxley, Visalia, Calif., Muriel and Eric Helvestine, Fincastle; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Maria Hall, Roanoke; five grandchildren, John and Lloyd Keeling, Exeter, Calif., Erica, Amy, and Sarah Helvestine, Fincastle. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, 1994 at the St. John's Episcopal Church, with Rev. James A. Creasy officiating. Private family inurnment to follow the service in the St. John's Episcopal Church Columbarium. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Boys Home, Covington, Va. 24426.
