OBIT-MERCER, LISSIE BOYD

MERCER, Lissie Boyd, 82, of Marion, died Sunday, January 2, 1994 in Birdmont Manor Nursing Home in Wytheville, Va. Mrs. Mercer was owner and operator of the Charm Beauty Shop in Marion and Wytheville, Va. for many years. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, where she taught the Adult Sunday School Class for thirteen years and was a member of Rebecca Lodge #42. Mrs. Mercer was past state president of the Ladies Auxiliary Patriach Militant Order of Odd Fellows. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. D. B. (Francelia) Cox of Wytheville, Va.; two sons, Rudolph Mercer of Clearwater, Fla. and Stanley Mercer of Atkins, Va.; two sisters, Alva King of Radford, Va., and Sadie Repass of Atkins, Va.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, 1994, at Seaver-Brown Chapel, with Rev. Aubrey Whitlow and Rev. Henry Horton officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted of donations may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church, 710 Grace Street, Marion, Va. 24354. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel or anytime at the homes of Sadie Repass or Francelia Cox. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
