WOOL PRODUCERS URGED TO FILE FOR PAYMENTS

Wool producers are being urged to file for incentive payments by Jan. 31., although the legal deadline is not until March 1.

W. Terry Altizer, county executive director of the Montgomery/Giles Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service said that sales documents filed by the end of this month will be used to determine the national average market price.

The national average market price is compared to the 1993 support level to determine actual incentive payments.

Wood producers must file for the incentive payment on 1993 sales of wool and unshorn lambs by Mar 1.
