OBIT FRANCIS, SAMUEL MILES
FRANCIS, Samuel Miles, 85, of White Gate, died Wednesday, January 19, 1994
in a Pearisburg hospital. He was born February 3, 1908 at White Gate the son
of the late Andrew Johnston Francis Sr. and Jeannie Shannon Francis. He was
preceded in death by a brother, Andrew J. Francis Jr; two sisters, Mary Fax
Graham and Jean Francis. He was a life time resident and farmer of White Gate
and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by one brother, David
Francis, Pilot; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Francis, Rockford, Ill.; six
nephews, A.J. Francis III, Rodney Francis, Roger Francis, Stuart Francis, Tate
Graham and Henry Graham; one niece, Mrs. Anita F. Heartley. Funeral services
will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the
Rev. Harry Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in the Walkers Creek
Presbyterian Cemetery, White Gate. Visiting will be at the funeral home after
1 p.m. Friday and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
