FILMS BROUGHT $46 MILLION TO VIRGINIA|

The Virginia Film Office has reported that on-location filming in the state has generated more than $48 million for the Virginia economy in 1993.

Last year, four feature films, eight television movies, 14 broadcast commercials and 5 video or other films were made in Virginia. Among those were ``The Pelican Brief,'' ``Lassie,'' ``The Vernon Johns Story,'' ``Conduct Unbecoming,'' and ``The Foreign Student.'' More than 110 Virginia cities and counties were visited by film scouts, and all six economic development regions were used.
