FREE CLASSES FOR ADULTS OFFERED

Free classes for adults are being offered at several New River Valley locations. Participants can select classes in mathematics, reading improvement and writing, or can work toward obtaining a General Education Development certificate.

Private tutoring also is available on request. New students are welcome anytime, and participants may attend more than one class.

Classes meet at several locations on the following schedules:

White United Methodist Church, Main Street, Shawsville, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9-11:30 a.m.

Christiansburg Presbyterian Church, Main Street, Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m.-noon.

Lantern Ridge Apartments community room, Blacksburg, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30 a.m.-noon.

Elliston-Lafayette Elementary School, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-8:30 p.m.

Special Programs Center, 1180 N. Franklin St., Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:30-9 p.m.

Blacksburg High School, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:30-9 p.m.

Radford City Library, Fridays, 10 a.m.-noon.

Radford High School, Room 15, Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Willow Woods Apartments manager's office, Allen Avenue, Radford, Wednesdays, 9-11:30 a.m.
