INSURER'S SUCCESSOR RATED WEAK

Weiss Research Inc., an independent rater of financial institutions based in West Palm Beach, Fla., is issuing a report to help guide policyholders of the failed Executive Life Insurance Co.

Policyholders must make their decisions by Saturday about staying with the successor company, Aurora National Life Insurance Co.

The free report, "What To Do With Your Executive Life Policies," generally recommends that most policyholders - especially those who do not need the coverage or who can buy life insurance from other companies - choose to "opt out" of the new company.

Weiss has rated Aurora National as a D- or weak financial choice among life insurance companies.

The five-page report provides details about the consequences of each choice - either remaining in the weak, unknown company or getting out now and recognizing an immediate loss of about 44 cents on the dollar.

"Unfortunately, the authorities have not provided policyholders with even the minimal information necessary to make an informed decision," said Martin Weiss, president of Weiss Research.

The report is available to Executive Life policyholders and the public by calling Weiss Research at (407) 684-8100.
