BUS DRIVER TRACKS DOWN MOTORIST

A school bus driver fed up with impatient motorists speeding past her caution lights recently decided to take action against one of the offenders, giving him a good tongue-lashing and a trip to court.

Susan Rubio was dropping off children in a Virginia Beach subdivision when a car darted from behind her bus and drove through the children's path.

After waiting until all schoolchildren were off the bus, Rubio drove to a gas station where she saw the car parked and found the driver, Andre Pouncy.

"I yelled, `You could have killed one of my children,' and he looked at me like he was really sorry," said Rubio, who reported Pouncy to police. "I feel like these are my kids. They are my responsibility."

On Wednesday, Pouncy was fined $50 for failing to stop for a school bus. He also was fined an additional $50 for failing to stop for another school bus just moments before driving past Rubio's bus.
