OBIT MARTIN, NETTIE EAST

MARTIN, Nettie East, 88, of Narrows, died Sunday in a Rich Creek Nursing Home. A lifelong resident of Giles County, she was born on July 9, 1905 and was the daughter of the late Ezkel and Mary Bessie Woolwine East. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Narrows and was preceded in death by her husband, Hampton R. Martin. She is survived by a son, John L. Martin, Alexandria, Va.; two sisters, Alean Pruett, Houston, Texas and Rena Bishop, Princeton, W.Va.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery in Narrows, with the Rev. Jack E. Musick officiating. The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows, Friday Evening from 7-9 p.m.
