FORMER MINISTER IN PULASKI AUTHORS BOOK

The Rev. Mark Stephen Hearn, a 1977 graduate of Pulaski County High School, is the author of a 140-page book published by Brentwood Christian Press of Columbus, Ga.

His book, ``Discover the Witness Inside You,'' was written as a witness training course for church members answering the call in the Book of Matthew for all believers to be witnesses to their faith. It shows how individuals can draw on their own spiritual gifts and motivate themselves to carry out evangelism.

Hearn, a former member of Memorial Baptist Church in Pulaski, is now pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Evansville, Ind. He graduated from Carson-Newman College, earned a master of divinity degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and a doctorate from Luther Rice Seminary.

He has previously been a pastor at churches in Seymour, Morristown and Mosheim, Tenn., and Payneville, Ky. He has led revivals in six states as well as Brazil. Last year he participated in a 15-day crusade in Zambie, Africa, to launch a new church.

Hearn dedicated the book to his wife, their four daughters and his parents, Herman and Ruth Hearn who still live in Pulaski. He expresses appreciation to his parents for their financial sacrifices in allowing him to further his education, and to his mother in particular for typing the manuscript of his book.
