BELL, Edna Hale, 65, of Vinton, passed away Friday, April 22, 1994. She was a member of Emmanuel Wesleyan Church and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. Mrs. Bell is survived by her husband, Cecil D. Bell of Vinton; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie D. and Sandra T. Bell, Vinton; daughter and son-in-lw, Connie Bell and Clayton F. BLEVINS, Squire Comador, (``Tommy""), 80, of Roanoke County, died Saturday, April 23, 1994. He was a retired employee of Wiley N. Jackson Construction Company. He was a member and Deacon of Melrose Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Thurman Blevins. Surviving are his wife, Sarah Williams Blevins, Roanoke County; stepson and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Virginia Williams, Roanoke County; four grandchildren, Eric Williams, Chad Williams, Mark Blevins, and Rhonda Blevins Foulks; five brothers, Lee Blevins, Chesil Blevins, William (Bill) Blevins, all of Marion, Rev. KAVANAGH, J. Philip, 88, of Roanoke, died Saturday, April 23, 1994, at his residence. He was retired from Wallace & Tiernan Company, and was active in the American Waterwork Association and the Virginia Water Pollution Control Association. Surviving are his wife, Mary Flanagan Kavanagh; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Martha Kavanagh, Roanoke; two daughters and son-in-law, Carol K. and Robert Schroeder, Roanoke, Catherine Kavanagh, Richmond; two sisters, Theresa K. LEWIS, Joel Rodney, 50, of New River, Va., died, Wednesday, April 20, 1994, in Botetourt County as a result of a construction accident. He was born July 1, 1943 in Radford, Va. the son the of the late Ray W. Lewis Sr. and Regina Casey Lewis. He was an employee of the Lewis Construction Company. He is survived by two sons, Arthur Lewis of Radford and Garrett Taylor of New River, Va.; five brothers, Walter S. Lewis Sr., Leander V. Lewis Sr., James W. Lewis, Anthony G. Lewis, Richard Courtney Lewis; four sisters, Laverne Brown, Valerie Morton, Eliza Charlton, Caroline Manns; one granddaughter, LaToya Lewis; host of other relatives and friends. LOTTS, Lewis Hampton, 62, of Natural Bridge, died Saturday, April 23, 1994 in the Camelot Hall Nursing Home in Salem, Va. Mr. Lotts was born April 26, 1931 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Lewis C. Lotts and Pearl Kenley Lotts. He was a member of the High Bridge Presbyterian Church. Surviving are two daughters, Sandra L. Fernatt, Richmond, Sharon L. Dutton, Chesapeake; one son, David Wayne Lotts, Roanoke; one sister, Joyce L. Camper, Sanford, N. C.; three brothers, Harliss Lotts, Vinton, Miles Lotts, Salem, James Lotts, Wilmington, N. MONTGOMERY, John William Jr., 63, of Buena Vista, died Saturday, April 23, 1994, at Stonewall Jackson Hospital in Lexington. He was the son of the late John William Montgomery Sr. and Marie Eggleston Montgomery. He was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Montgomery and a sister, Allena Chittum. John was a retired carpenter. He worked for Shewey's Building Supply for 24 yr. He also worked for Lexington Building Supply several years. He was a member of the Buena Vista Church of God of Prophecy where he played the piano for over 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Betty Cash Montgomery and four sons, Robert William Montgomery and wife, Pat, Kenneth Dale Montgomery and Joyce, Stephen Wayne Montgomery and wife, Louise and Emmitt (Bo) Wayne Montgomery and wife, Lorrie and ex-daughter-in-law, Marilyn Farris; one sister, Alice Wilhelm of Glasgow; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; also one special great-grandson, Zack Montgomery who lived at the home. He is also survived by a stepmother and three half sisters and a very special friend Bo Byers. TURNER, Lloyd Shattuck, 85, of Richmond, died Saturday, April 23, 1994, at Richmond Memorial Hospital in Richmond, Va. Mr. Turner was born in Gardner, Massachusetts December 4, 1908, the son of the late Harvey Sherman Turner and Mertie Abby Shattuck Turner. He was a graduate of the University of Vermont with graduate studies at Harvard and Boston University. He was a life time member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Mr. Turner taught school before he retired from General Electric in Schenectady, New York. He was a vertry member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Roc ky Mount, Va. He was preceded in death by one son, David Harvey Turner. Surviving are his devoted wife of 60 years, Ethel Lynn Mann Turner, Richmond, Va; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Rose Turner Vacca and Dr. Richard Vacca, Richmond, Va; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held 11:00 am Friday (April 29, 1994) at Trinity Episcopal Church Cemetery with the Rev. Van T. Renick officiating.
