RADFORD SWEPT BY AUBURN

Auburn used solid pitching to take two games from Radford University, beating the Highlanders 4-2 and 7-3 in Auburn, Ala.

In the first game, Kevin Humphreys (11-3) held Radford (26-22) to one earned run and three hits in 6 innings. Ryan Halla finished to record his seventh save.

In the nightcap, Jason LeBoeuf (3-2) came on after the Highlanders scored all three of their runs in the first inning and shut them out the rest of the way while striking out a career-high 10.

Virginia Tech will face Richmond at 7 p.m. today at Salem Municipal Field.

The Hokies (27-20) have split a pair of games with Richmond (32-17) this season. Tickets for the rubber game are $5 and will be sold only at the gates.

The game will be preceded by a social sponsored by the Roanoke Valley Hokie Club at 5:30 p.m. Tickets for the social, which includes refreshments, are $4.
