GROWTH MAY HURT SOME CITIZENS

If the citizens of Roanoke want to repair Victory Stadium, I am sure we can come up with whatever manpower and funds are necessary (following the example of Merrimac and McCoy's Miners' Monument).

If we are considering building a stadium in another downtown location, I hope we take a look at the big picture. Will the low-income citizens downtown lose more income as they take time away from work to fight yet another threat to their homes, businesses and neighborhoods?

I hope for once we will plan ahead and look at things from their vantage point. Otherwise, we'll soon see riots in our quiet, peaceful city of Roanoke. This may yet be another example of how growth in Roanoke hurts our poor.
