FITCH, Blanche Nelson, 87, of Pollocksville, N.C., died Tuesday, June 28, 1994.

AKERS, Curgless G., 79, of Christiansburg, died in a local hospital Sunday evening, June 26, 1994. The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at the gravesite in Sunset Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. L. V. DeHart. Arrangements are being handled by the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home.

BARROWS, George, 47, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, June 28, 1994. A memorial service will be held at Second Presbyterian Church at noon Thursday, June 30, 1994. The family will receive friends at their home from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 1994 and after the memorial service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice, Inc., (3825 Electric Road, S.W., Roanoke, VA 24018) or the Southwest Virginia Emmaus Community (P.O. BLANCHER, Ruby Hartman, 81, of Roanoke County, died Tuesday, June 28, 1994. She was the widow of Charles James Blancher and is survived by a son, Ronald W. Blancher, Roanoke; two grandchildren, Brian and Jennifer Blancher, Roanoke; two sisters, Oneida Weaver and Hazel Gearheart, both of Roanoke; a sister-in-law, Ruby Hartman, Roanoke; also surviving are a number of neices and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at Lotz Roanoke Chapel 10 a.m. Friday, July 1, 1994, with Rev. Jerry Cloninger officiating. Interment in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Lotz Roanoke Chapel after 1 p.m. Wednesday.

BLEVINS, Ruth Parker, 36, of B-101 Maple Garden Apartments, Dublin, died late Monday night in the Pulaski Community Hospital. She was born in Smythe County on July 28, 1957. She was a member of the Back Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church. Survivors are her husband, Randy Blevins, Dublin; one daughter, Kelli Blevins, Dublin; parents, Olen Dale Parker and Mildred Kegley Parker, Radford; one brother, Jeffrey D. Parker, Silver Springs, Md.; two grandmothers, Mrs. Ruth Kegley, Marion and Mrs. Eva Parker, Marion. Funeral services will be held Thursday 4 p.m. from the Stevens Funeral Chapel, Pulaski, with the Rev. James Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunrise Burial Park, Fairlawn. CHITTUM, Howard Jefferson, 87, of Rt.3, Vinton, passed away Monday, June 27, 1994. He was retired from the East End Shops of the N & W Railroad. Survivors include his wife Ollie Bales Chittum; three sons, Franklin D. Chittum, Roy J Chittum, both of Glen Rock, Pa., Leon C. Chittum of Vinton; three daughters, Cora Lee Rucker of Vinton, Phyllis C. Sweeney, Roanoke, Margaret J. Brown of Moneta; three sisters, Geneva C Howell, Christine C. Bryant, Mary C. Quesenberry all of Vinton; also fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great - grandchild. HALL, Pauline H., (``Polly""), 71, of Vinton, died Monday, June 27, 1994. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin G. Hall and was a retired PBX Operator with N & W, with 37 years of service. Mrs. Hall is survived by her mother, Louella M. Harris, Roanoke; two daughters and sons-in-law, Andrea S. and Robert T. Biggs, Roanoke, and Willa H. and Tony A. Burrows, Roanoke; one son and daughter-in-law, Dallas E. and Kathy D. Helm, Wirtz; two sisters, Peggy H. Allen, Goldsboro, N. C., Mary Jo H. Climie, Green Valley, Ariz.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; special caregivers, Pam Johnson and Carolyn Hobson. HENNINGER, Virginia Clark, 86, a resident of 159 Hill Dr., Abingdon, died Monday, June 27, 1994 in Lewis-Gale Hospital, Salem. She was a native of Balsam, NC who lived most of her life in Abingdon. She was a member of the U.D.C. She was a member of the Abingdon United Methodist Church and was the widow of David F. Henninger. Survivors include one son, Gerald Clark Henninger, Roanoke, one granddaughter, Virginia J. Lyles, Newnan, Ga.; three grandsons, David L. Henninger of Copper Hill, and Daniel W. Henninger of Mableton, Ga.; five great-grandchildren; one niece and four nephews. Funera l services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Abingdon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Larry J. Ousley and the Rev. Betty C. Reiff officiating. Burial will follow in the Sinking Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David L. Henninger, Charles C. Henninger, Daniel M. Henninger, D. David Ringley, Thomas G. MARSHALL, Conrad M., 61, of Hillsville, formerly of Allisonia, passed away Monday, June 27, 1994 at the Twin County Community Hospital, Galax. He was born February 27, 1933 in Carroll County the son of Johnson and Alta Marshall. he is survived by one daughter, Virginia Outlaw; mother, Alta Marshall, Hillsville; sister, Juanita Prillman, Bassett; six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, June 39, 1994 at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with the Rev. James Alley officiating. MARTIN, Durell E., 68, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, June 24, 1994. He was a veteran of U.S. Army and served in World War II. Survivors include one son, Roland Crenshaw of Roanoke; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Elaine Chapman of New York; a devoted friend and companion, Alberta Flint of Roanoke; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. PARRISH, Deane McCreagh Jr., 65, of Pleasant Valley, N.Y., formerly of Marion, died Tuesday, May 3, 1994 at his home after a long illness. He was the son of the late Deane M. and Elizabeth Copenhaver Parrish of Richmond; the grandson of the late Dr. E. M. and Susan Sheffey Copenhaver of Marion. He attended schools in Marion, the Greenbrier Military School and graduated from the University of Richmond. He is survived by his daughter, Jane Parrish Streck and her husband, Tom Streck; two granddaughters, Jessica and Alexandra Streck, all of Poughkeepsie, N.Y; two sisters, Susan Parrish Walker and Caroline Parrish Seager, both of Marion. Funeral services were held in Poughkeepsie May 9th. A graveside service will be held at Round Hill Cemetery in Marion on June 30 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Michael J. Zumpf officiating. REYNOLDS, Virginia Clement, 90, of Roanoke, passed away Monday, June 27, 1994, in a local hospital. For the past 20 years, she had made her home in Rocky Mount with her daughter. Mrs. Reynolds retired from the S. H. Heironimus Company. She was a member of the Old Jefferson Street Baptist Church of Roanoke for 63 years and was presently a member of Boones Mill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, C. J. Clement and E. A. Reynolds; a granddaughter, Ann Marie Bush, and a grandson, Bill Clement. She is the beloved mother of three sons and their wives, Jack and Maude Clement, Vinton, Ernest and Lelia Ann Clement, Roanoke, Gene and Ann Clement, High Point, N.C.; four daughters and their husbands, Betty C. Dickerson, Martinsville, Barbara C. and Billy Bush, Virginia C. and Ronald Ham, all of Rocky Mount, Sara C. and Don Prillaman, Elkhart, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many friends. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Building Fund at Boones Mill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted 11:30 a.m. Friday at Oakey's North Chapel by the Rev. James H. SHOAF, Ralph W. Jr., of Charlottesville, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 1994, after a brief illness. He was born November 12, 1924 in Roanoke. He served in the Pacific in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII and attended the University of Virginia. He was a member of Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He was a realtor with McLean Faulconer. He is survived by his wife, Suzzane W. Shoaf, Charlottesville; five sons, Ralph W. Shoaf III, Herbert W. Shoaf, Cabell M. Shoaf, Clay W. Shoaf, John W. Shoaf; one sister, Ann S. SPANGLER, Burman Snidow, Sr., 89, of Salem, died Tuesday, June 28, 1994. He was retired from Civil Service, serving in the Panama Canal Zone. He was an active member of the AARP, Chapter 42, for over 20 years. He was active with senior citizens of the Salem and Glenvar area, a member of the I.O.O.F. for over 20 ye ars, and was Grand Chaplain. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Panama for over 20 years, and Taylor Lodge AF & AM #23 for over 27 years. He is survived by his wife, Victoria L. Spangler; his son and daughter-in-law, Burman S. Jr. and Alice Chandler Spangler, Shawsville; his daughter, Maria Julia Spangler, Salem; nephew, Bobby Spangler and wife, Sylvia, Winston-Salem, N.C.
