LAST DENNY BEATING DEFENDANT SENTENCED

The last of four men charged in the beating of trucker Reginald Denny during the 1992 riots was sentenced to three years' probation for shooting at Denny's truck.

Lance Jerome Parker could have faced 3 1/2 years in prison.

Denny was pulled from his rig and badly beaten. Television news helicopters captured the attack at the outset of the riots, which started after acquittals in the videotaped police beating of Rodney King.

Three others faced charges in the attack. Last year, Damian Williams, 21, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for mayhem and other charges. Henry Watson, 29, received probation for misdemeanor assault. Antoine Miller, 21, received probation in a plea bargain. - Associated Press
