Tyler William Blankenship was born on June 28, 1994, at 5:16 p.m. at Community Hospital. He weighed 7 lbs. 10 3/4 oz. and was 21 1/4 inches in length. Tyler's proud parents are Christy and James Blankenship. Tyler has a big brother, Christopher James Blankenship who is 4 years old. Grandparents are Jay and Dillie Hatcher, Harold and Carlene Blankenship and a very special uncle JayJay Hatcher. Special thanks to all of our family and friends for the flowers, cards, gifts, visits and prayers. A very special thank you to Dr. Arthur Garst, Jr. Thanks most of all to God for giving us a healthy and handsome baby boy.
\ Brown birth
Austin Charles Brown, weighing 8 lbs. 12 1/2 ozs. and 21 inches long, was born at Community Hospital on June 3rd, 1994 at 7:38 pm. His parents are Charles and Debra Brown. Grandparents are Mary Wyrick, Mr. & Mrs. Joe Brown, and Mr. & Mrs. William Simmerman.
\ Horne birth
Jessica Taylor Horne was born May 29, 1994 at 5:46 p.m. at Community Hospital. She weighed 8 lbs. 1 1/4 ozs. and was 20 1/2 inches in length. Her proud parents are Brian and Zondra Horne. Her sisters are Kasey Renee Layman, age 8; Amanda Horne, age 6 and brother Casey Horne, age 5.
Paternal grandparents are George R. Horne and Barbara Henderson Lewis, both of Salem. Maternal grandparents are Rev. William and Barbara Burdine of Flint, Michigan.
Attending physician was Dr. Lee McLennan of OBGYN Assoc.
\ Lafferty birth
Taylor Morgan Lafferty was born June 24, 1994 at 4:12 p.m., at Community Hospital. She weighed 8 lbs. 6 ozs., and was 20 1/2 inches long. Her parents are Brian and Sandy Lafferty. Her sister, Courtney Noelle Lafferty, is 3 1/2 years old. Her grandparents are Burman and Virginia Snider of Daleville; Sharon Johnson of Pulaski; and Richard Lafferty of Beckley, W.Va. The attending physician was Dr. Steven Farber. We would like to thank the staff at OB/GYN Associates, the nurses on 6th and 7th floor at Community Hospital and special thanks to God for this precious gift He has given to us.
\ Lovell births
Triplet Boys were born May 11, 1994 at 3:25 p.m. in Community Hospital Christopher Lee weighing 1 lb. 15 oz. 14 1/2 inches long, Conner Lee weighing 2 lbs. 3 oz. 14 1/4 inches long and Tyler Lee weighing 1 lb. 14 oz. 13 1/2 inches long. The proud parents are Harvey and Drema Lovell of Salem, and a big brother Spencer Lee, 3 1/2. Grandparents are Douglas Lovell of Elliston, Janie Lovell of Roanoke and Herbert & Sylvia Linkous of Shawsville. A special thanks to Dr's Hardee, Keene, and Agee, also the nursing staff on 7th floor.
\ Oliver birth
Andrew Jacob Oliver was born June 23, 1994 at 12:21 p.m. in Lewis-Gale Hospital. He weighted 7 lbs. 1 oz. and was 20 inches in length. The proud parents are Barry and Janet Oliver. Maternal grandparents are Mr. Hobart S. Carter of Bedford and the late Vada C. Carter. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Lacy B. Oliver of Elliston. Mr. and Mrs. John A. Carter are the maternal great-grandparents. Drew has 4 more playmates at home, Mandy, Sam, Huff & Puff, the families black labs and cats. Dr. Carl B. Harms was the attending physician.
\ Sochor birth
With great joy and thanksgiving to God, Eric and Theresa Sochor proudly announce the birth of a son, Thomas Miles Sochor, born June 20. Thomas arrived at 6:40 p.m., weighed 6 lbs. 6 oz. and was 20 inches in length. Special thanks go to our friends and family for their prayers, meals, gifts, housecleaning, cards and phone calls. We also thank Dr. Debra Clapp and the maternity nursing staff at Lewis-Gale Hospital for their expertise and many kindnesses. We especially want to thank God for his mercy and grace in giving us such a beautiful baby boy!
