CLIMBER'S CAREER IS ON THE ROCKS

During those times when he can't satisfy his urges at New River Gorge or Iron Gate, 14-year-old Aaron Galbreath doesn't have to go far for a climbing challenge.

Galbreath, who will be a freshman at Patrick Henry High School in the fall, can hop on a bike and be at Rocwood in a matter of minutes.

Galbreath's familiarity with Roanoke's indoor rock-climbing facility was almost as valuable as his obvious talent Saturday when he took first place among juniors in the inaugural rock-climbing competition at the Commonwealth Games of Virginia.
