AXTON MAN SHOT AFTER ARGUMENT

An Axton man was shot several times after an argument Friday night.

According to a Henry County Sheriff's Office news release, Johnny Wayne Carter, 37, was at his home in Axton Trailer Park when Darryl Arnaz Price approached him carrying a handgun at about 8:35 p.m. Carter picked up a .38-caliber handgun, and an argument ensued. Price allegedly shot Carter and fled the trailer park.

The news release said Carter underwent surgery for multiple gunshot wounds.

Price, 32, of Axton, has been charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm. As of Saturday, no arrest had been made, according to the news release.
