REPORTED EARNINGS

Adolph Coors

Adolph Coors Co., Golden, Colo., brewer operating a bottling and distribution plant in Rockingham County, reported net income of $17.3 million, or 45 cents per share, on sales of $684 million for its third quarter ended Oct. 2, compared with the year-earlier $9.6 million, or 25 cents per share, on sales of $660.1 million.

For the nine months, net income was $48.2 million, or $1.26 a share, on sales of $1.60 billion, compared with year-earlier $33.1 million, or 87 cents, on sales of $1.53 billion.

CFW Communications

CFW Communications Co., Waynesboro telephone carrier serving the Waynesboro and Clifton Forge areas, reported third-quarter net income of $1.7 million on revenues of $8.3 million, compared with year-earlier $1.9 million on revenues of $7 million. The company did not report per-share income for the quarter.

For the nine months, net income was $5.5 million, or 45.6 cents per share, on revenues of $23.8 million, compared with year-earlier $5.5 million, or 47.6 cents, on revenues of $20.3 million.

The Limited

The Limited Inc., Columbus, Ohio, retailer operating Limited and Victoria's Secret stores in Roanoke, reported net income of $90.5 million, or 25 cents per share, on sales of $1.72 billion for its third quarter ended Oct. 29. That compared with year-earlier $82.2 million, or 23 cents, on sales of $1.62 billion.

For the nine months, net income was $191.6 million, or 53 cents per share, on sales of $4.78 billion, compared with $194.7 million, or 53 cents, on sales of $4.82 billion.

McDermott International

McDermott International Inc., New Orleans parent of Babcock & Wilcox division in Lynchburg, reported a net loss of $3.3 million, equal to 10 cents per share, on revenues of $724.1 million for its second quarter ended Sept. 30, compared with year-earlier net income of $37.6 million, or 66 cents per common share, on revenues of $777.5 million.

For the six months, the net loss was $1.91 million, equal to 11 cents per share, on revenues of $1.48 billion, compared with year-earlier net loss of $39.9 million, equal to 75 cents per share, on revenue of $1.48 billion.
