DICKER, Clifford E., 58, of Barren Springs, Va. died Tuesday, December 6, 1994. Arrangements by Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski.

DUCKER, The Rev. George L., 47, of Radford, passed away Sunday, December 4, 1994. He was a member of the Presbytery of the Peaks and Pastor of The Presbyterian Church of Radford, a graduate of St. Andrews Presbyterian College, and Louisville Theological Seminary, former vice moderator of the Synod of the Mid Atlantic, chairman of the Division of Administration, chairman of the Office & Work Group of the Presbytery of the Peaks, member of the Radford Ministerial Assoc., member of the Radford City School Board, on the board of New River Valley Community Action, and former board member of the United Way. Survivors include his wife, Lane Custer Ducker, Radford; two sons, Greer Allen Ducker and Brian David Ducker, both of Radford; his parents, William Greer and Elizabeth Hamilton Ducker, Mooresville, N.C.; one sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Mitchell Tuchscherer, Charlotte, N.C.; two nieces, Leslie Lane and Megan Elizabeth Tuchscherer. A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 8, 1994 at 4 p.m. at The Presbyterian Church of Radford with the Rev. James Dewey and the Rev. George Goodman officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall of the church until 6:30 p.m. A second Memorial service will be held Saturday, December 10, 1994 at the Myers Park Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, N.C. with Dr. James E. Fogartie officiating. Visitation will follow the service in the parlor of the church. GABLE, Wendell L., 57, of New Castle, died Monday, December 5, 1994, in a Salem hospital. He was preceded in death by his father, Sherman Victor Gable; two brothers, Leland and Ray Gable. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis E. Gable, New Castle; four daughters, Annette Price, Blacksburg, Deanne Sowers, Denise Carr, both of New Castle, Joy Fowler, Lone Star, Texas; his mother, Corene Gable, West Monroe, La.; a sister, Mary Deatherage, Fort Worth, Texas; a brother, Glen Gable, Arlington, Texas; seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 8, at 2 p.m. at Craig Valley Baptist Church, with interment in Huffman Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Boitnott Funeral Home and request contributions be made to the Rescue Squad or Camp On Craig, in lieu of flowers.

LACKEY, Vada Huffman, 92, of Lexington, died Tuesday, December 6, 1994 at Stonewall Jackson Hospital. She was born in Rockbridge Co., January 3, 1902, the daughter of the late Thomas J. Huffman and Ida Arehart Huffman. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Henry Lackey. She was a member of the Lexington Presbyterian Church and an Honorary member of the Lexington Woman's Club. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Jim Mays, Lexington; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Alvina Lackey, Smithfield; one brother, H. Hunter Huffman, Roanoke; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 8,1994, at 11 a.m. in the Harrison Funeral Chapel, with Dr. Richard M. Webster officiating. Burial will follow in Collierstown Presbyterian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorials be made to the Lexington First Aid or the L exington Presbyterian Church RAPH Fund. LITTLE, Essie Laura Caudill, 86, of Glade Springs, formerly of Lansing, N.C., died Tuesday, December 6, 1994 at the Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, Va. Mrs. Little was born in Ashe County, N.C. on April 17, 1908 to Sam and Amanda (Mandy) Welch Caudill. She was married to Fred Randolph Little Sr., who preceded her in death in 1984. She was a homemaker and retired store owner. Survivors include two sons, Fred Little Jr. of Atkins, Va., Charles Little of Vienna, Va.; one daughter, Jewel Osborne of Glade Springs, Va.; three brothers, Jack Caudill, Warren Caudill, both of Lansing, N.C., Wade Caudill of Crumpler, N.C.; five sisters, Ollie Mae McQueen, Katherine Trivette, both of Elizabethton, Tenn., Ruth Goss of Pennsylvania, Francis McQueen of Galax, Va., Patsy Davis of Cleveland, Ohio. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 8, 1994, at 2 p.m. in the Ashelawn Memorial Chapel in Jefferson, N.C. The Rev. Dennis Blazier is officiating. Interment will follow in the Haw Orchard Cemetery, Mouth of Wilson, Va. OAKES, Herman Radford, 80, of Route 7, Heritage Court, Martinsville, died Tuesday, December 6, 1994, at his home. He was born June 20, 1914, and was a member of Hollywood Baptist Church, Callands and was active in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Snow Creek. Mr. Oakes was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Bowles Oakes. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Donald Ashby, Martinsville; three sons and daughters-in-law, L. D. and Retha Oakes, Martinsville, Larry H. and Cheta Oakes, Snow Creek, Teddy L. and Brenda Oakes, Danville; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elsie Childress and Elizabeth Yeatts, both of Newport News; two half brothers, Leonard Oakes, Callands, Ran Oakes, Danville; five half sisters, Ethel Adkins, Callands, Betty Osborne, Alta Vista, Vicki Stiltner, Newport News, Barbara Crews, Alta Vista, Carolyn Kendrick, Danville. ORR, Warren Harry, 73, of Roanoke, died Monday, December 5, 1994. Mr. Orr was a retired musician, having been active with dance bands in the Southwest Virginia area and also in the Washington, D.C. area, where he played lead trumpet and was personnel manager with the Devron Orchestra. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II. Serving as a musician first class. A member of the American Federation of Musicians local #165 and was a life member of the D.C. Federation of Musicians. Mr. Orr was a member of Pleasants Lodge #63 AF and AM; Roanoke Scottish Rite Bodies and Kazim Shrine Temple, where he was an active member of the Kazim Band. He was also a member of the Roanoke Valley Community Band. Surviving are three daughters, Marcia S. ""Susie"" Greene, Burlington, Ky., Nancy E. Routson, Johnston, Iowa, Julie J. Bates, Liberty, Mo.; a devoted step-son, Thomas M. Davis, Jr., Roanoke; four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 33 years, Nelda Ragland Orr. Graveside services will be conducted, 11 a.m., Thursday at Fair View Cemetery with the Rev. Charles A. ROBINSON, Ethel Maria, 87, of Narrows, died Monday, December 5, 1994, at Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg, Va. Born January 17, 1907 in Peoria, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Henry and Clara Belle McManaway Cordts. She was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church, Pearisburg. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Harold Jacques and three brothers. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Edward S. and Helen Gwin, Salem, Mass., John A. and Joy Gwin, Roselle, Ill, William T. and Shirley Jacques, Eliot, Maine; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Ronald H. Mitchell, Narrows, Va.; sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Victor Tuffentsamer, East Peoria, Ill; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, December 8, 1994, in the Chapel of Riffe's Funeral Service, Narrows, with the Rev. Griffin C. Callahan officiating. SIGMON, Lois Clowers, of Roanoke County, died Tuesday, December 6, 1994, in a local nursing home. She was the widow of Lester Horace Sigmon. Surviving are two daughters, Kathy D. Sigmon, Roanoke and Vicki S. Udell, Pompano Beach, Fla.; a brother and sister-in-law, William H. and Norma Clowers, Easton, Pa. She was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church. SOWERS, James William ``Bill"", 74, of Wytheville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 5, 1994. He was a World War II veteran. He is survived by his wife, Marie Wyatt Sowers, Wytheville; son and daughter-in-law, David and Sandra Sowers, Roanoke; daughter, Kathy Phillips, Roanoke; one sister, Dorothy King, Charleston, W.Va.; two brothers, Marvin Sowers, Wytheville, Robert Sowers, Blairs, Va.; four grandchildren, Brian Sowers, Salem, Tina Hamlin, Wytheville, Chris Sowers and Dana Phillips, Roanoke; two special friends, Doug Painter, Erica Lohr Newberry; several cousins, nieces and nephews. TABOR, Everett Matthew, (``Mack''), 76, of 107 Midway Street, Narrows, Va. died Monday, December 5, 1994, in the Roanoke Memorial Rehab Center, Roanoke, Va. He was born in Roanoke, Va. on November 2, 1918, and was the son of the late Ernest and Maude Tabor. He was a veteran or World War II, and was a retired employee of the Hoechst/Celanese Fibers Company Plant at Narrows with 41 years of service. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Narrows where was a deacon and a member of the Christian's Mens Fellowship and the Men's Bible Class. He was a retired member of the Narrows Fire Department with 32 years service. Of those 32 years, he was the Fire Chief for 27 years. He was a member and past Nobel Grand of Wabash Lodge #189 I.O.O.F., and a member of Angel's Rest Rebekas Lodge #72 of Pearisburg, Va. and was an associate member of Angel's Rest Lodge #153, I.O.O.F. Pearisburg, Va. He was a member and past commander of V.F.W. Post #6000 of Narrows, Va. He is survived by his wife, Nellie Boothe Tabor; sons, Harry L. Tabor, Sandston, Va. and Michael S. Tabor, Narrows, Va.; daughters, Barbara A. Martin, Bluewell, W.Va., Branda S. Morrison, Christiansubrg, Va.; brothers, James E. Tabor, Narrows, Va., William H. Tabor, Las Vegas, N.V.; sister, Mary Elizabeth Pulliam, Lexington, N.C.; grandchildren, Christopher Tabor, Sandston, Va., Meleah Morrison, and Matt Morrison, Christiansburg, Va., Jimmy Joe Martin, Princeton, W.Va. YOPP, Charlie Moses Sr., 84, of Shawsville, died Tuesday, December 6, 1994 at Meadowbrook Nursing Home. He was born in Floyd County, the son of the late Andrew J. and Zinna W. Yopp. He was a retired employee of Old Virginia Brick Company in Salem. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Lena Simmons, Myrtle Palmer, Bessie Dillon, and Ora Wood. He is survived by his wife, Marie Yates Yopp; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charlie M. Jr. and Jeanie Yopp, Jimmy O. and Myrtle N. Yopp; four grandchildren, Wesley, Cindy, Kristen and Jessica Yopp, all of Shawsville; also surviving are two brothers, and one sister, George Yopp, Salem, Roy Yopp, Lynchburg, and Bonnie Cook, Shawsville.
