NUMBERS DO LIE WHEN IT COMES TO FLOYD STREAK

Floyd County did everything it could do this fall in Group A girls' basketball, but it didn't tie a state record for consecutive victories.

The media reported that when Floyd County beat Buffalo Gap 77-41 to win the state title and its 56th consecutive game, it tied a state mark. the victory

tied the record under the heading "Outstanding Performances" in this season's and last season's Virginia High School League state tournament program.
