THANKFUL GIVER REMEMBERS NURSE'S HELP

On March 17, Bob Castle was at choir practice at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Botetourt County rehearsing for the Easter cantata. Suddenly he started feeling sick, so he left the room and went out into the hallway. A few minutes later, his wife and another choir member, Sue Silcox, came out to check on him.

He was having a heart attack.

Silcox, a cardiac nurse at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, immediately began to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation. She summoned the rescue squad and rode with him to the hospital emergency room. When they arrived, she found a doctor to treat him within minutes.

Castle made a contribution to the Good Neighbors Fund today in honor of Silcox, who, he says, "may have saved my life. She was at the right place at the right time."
