SALEM - Members of the Virginia Skyline Girl Scout Council will begin to take Girl Scout cookie orders Jan. 20.

The cookies sell for $2 a box. The troop keeps 45 cents for each box sold.

MDA Lockup

BLACKSBURG - Holiday Ford Mazda will host the 1995 New River Valley Lock-up to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association Jan. 24, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Almost 100 Montgomery county professionals will participate as "jailbirds" and will raise their "bail" by calling friends and co-workers to help them get out of "jail." Sales representatives from Holiday Ford Mazda will be "arresting" participants and escorting them to "jail." Sub Shack Plus Pizza will provide lunch for the "jailbirds."

Proceeds from the Lock-up will be used locally to provide area families with wheelchairs, a monthly clinic, support groups and a summer camp for kids.
