PULASKI THESPIANS TOPS IN DISTRICT

The Pulaski County High School Players took first place Saturday in district drama competition, and Franklin County High School was second.

Their plays will be performed again Saturday at Stafford in regional competition.

The Pulaski group performed ``The Serpent,'' directed by Rhonda Welsh. In the past six years, the PCHS Players have won four first and two second places in Virginia High School League district competition.

The Franklin County play, ``The Other Side of the Wall,'' was directed by Drew Gibbons.

William Fleming High School's Magnet School of Performing Arts finished third with a performance of ``Everything I Wanted to Know, I Learned in Kindergarten,'' and Patrick Henry High School was fourth, performing ``Blind Date.''

Pulaski County High School was host of the competition this year.
