RADFORD MAN CHARGED IN BLACKSBURG ROBBERY

Police have arrested a Radford man and charged him with grand larceny after $200 was stolen from a supermarket Sunday.

Reginald Waldo Davis III, 28, of 803 Ninth St., was arrested the day after police responded to a call from the Food Lion on Hethwood Boulevard. There, at about 5:30 p.m., a man approached a cashier, asked for change and grabbed $200 from the register when it was opened. He then fled.

Davis will be arraigned Thursday in Montgomery County General District Court in Blacksburg.

Blacksburg police say the robbery, which did not involve a gun, is not connected to three armed robberies that have occurred in town over the past few weeks.
