ADAMS, Betty Jane Kirby, (``B.J.""), 60, of Buena Vista, died Tuesday, March 14, 1995, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born October 17, 1934, in Rockbridge Co. she was the daughter of the late Emmett Lee Kirby, Sr. and Erby Eldena Montgomery Kirby. She was preceded in death by one sister, Nora Lee Kirby Vest. Mrs. Adams is survived by her husband, Edwin L. Adams, Buena Vista; two daughters, Vicki Debra Adams and Lisa Dawn Adams, both of Lexington; two sisters, Agnes Virginia Kirby Gilmore, Lexington, Martha Ann Kirby Eakin Dorey, Roanoke; four brothers, William Everett (Billy) Kirby, Buena Vista, Kenneth Eugene Kirby, Amherst Co., Emmett Lee Kirby, Jr. and George Ernest Kirby, both of Lexington; nieces and nephews; and special friends, Rhonda Sandridge, Roanoke, Christine Flin t, Buena Vista. BARBARY, James V.,(``Jim''), 59, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 1995. He was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Surviving are his wife, Jenny Barbary; daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanette and Mitchell Keith, Roanoke, Annette and Chuck Jones, Fincastle; grandchildren, Adam Keith, Lauren Jones; brothers, Donald Barbary, York, S.C., Harold Barbary, Kingsport, Tenn.; sister, June Heldreth, Baltimore, Md. BUCHANAN, William Gordon Jr., (``Buck""), 77, of Roanoke, died Monday, March 13, 1995. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Camilla Marie Buchanan. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a graduate of Georgetown University. Mr. Buchanan was a U.S. Navy Veteran where he was noted as a lecturer. He was a retired Manufacturer's Representative, serving the heavy industrial industry. He was an avid world traveler. Surviving are his wife, Mary Alice Buchanan; children and spouses, Dr. Camilla Marie Buchanan and Debra Hill both of Williamsburg, William Gordon Buchanan III of Stafford, Lynn Buchanan Miller and Steven Miller of Lawrenceville, Ga., Clare Buchanan Iyoob and Thomas Iyoob of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Daniel Spirn, Eve Spirn, Buck Buchanan IV, B. COX, Helen Kathleen Winegar 70, of 209 West Virginia Manor, Bluefield, formerly of Bastian, died Tuesday, March 14, 1995, at her residence. She was born in Scott County,and was the daughter of the late John M. Winegar, Sr., and Callie Owens Winegar. She moved to Bastian, in 1927 and then to Double Gates, Bluefield, in 1963. She was a graduate of Lee College and ret ired from Tazewell County School Board, after 30 years with the Bland and Tazewell School System. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Bluefield Church of God on Highland Avenue, Bluefield, where she serrved as an Assistant Pianist. She served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Mercer County Economic Opportunity Corporation, where she served as Treasurer. She is surveved by; one daughter, Mrs. Sam (Donna) Brown; one sons, Harlan Cox, both of Bastian; six granchildren, John and Marcus Brown, Bastian, Jennifer L. Danner, Max Meadows, Chris Brown, Bastian, Nathan and Hannah Cox, Bastian; one great-grandchild, Austin Brown, B astian; two sisters, Margaret J. Whisman, Cleveland, Tenn., Helen Hyde, Baltimore, Md.; two brothers, John M. Winegar, Jr., Kingsport, Tenn., Rev. Herb Winegar, Dingless, W. Va. CRABTREE, Robert A., 70, of Newport News, formerly of Salem, died Monday, March 13, 1995. He was retired from the United Association of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union #540. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran who served during WWII in Korea and The Pacific Theater. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Veteran's of Foreign Wars. Surviving are his wife, Isabelle Turner Crabtree; son, Robert A. Turner, Jr., Roanoke; stepsons, Coleman J. Turner, Jr. and Gene Turner, both of Newport News, Louis H. Turner, Marion, N.C.; eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m Thursday in Peninsula Funeral Home Chapel, Newport News, by the Rev. Gilliam Butch Gordon of Ivy Farms Baptist Church. Burial in Peninsula Memorial Park. CROUCH, William Gilbert Sr., (``Buddy""), 77, of Roanoke, died Monday, March 13, 1995, at Richfield Nursing Center. He was a retired grounds superintendent and honorary member of Hidden Valley Country Club after 33 years of service. He was an honorary member of Virginia's Turgrass Association and a retired member of Golf Course Superintendents Association of America. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth L. Crouch. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, William G. Jr. and Jane Crouch, Vinton, Donald W. and Sue Crouch, Penhook; three grandsons and spouses, David Crouch, Fairfax, Kent and Nicole Crouch, Roanoke, Richard and Melissa Crouch, Vinton; and two great-grandsons, Michael Crouch and Bradley Crouc h. DAVIS, Ruby Irene, 75, of Pearisburg, died Tuesday, March 14, 1995, in Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg. Mrs. Davis was born on August 19, 1919, in Pulaski County, Va., and was a daughter of the late Dillard and Grace Roope Akers. Mrs. Davis was a member of the Ingram Village United Methodist Church and was a retired employee of the Giles High School Cafeteria. She is survived by her husband, Curtis (Bud) Davis, Pearisburg; two daughters, Ruby Jane Davis and Charlotte Eads, both of Pearisburg; one son, Curtis Davis, Ripplemead; three brothers, Orville (Dock) Akers, Dublin, Mack L. Akers, Pearisburg, James Akers, Fla.; three sisters, Kate Ratcliffe, Dublin and Inez (Bubbles) Turpin, both of Dublin, Bertha Hancock, Independence; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildr en. DOOLEY, Pearl Wilson Trent, 92, of Route 2, Bedford, died Tuesday, March 14, 1995 in Woodhaven Nursing Home in Montvale. She was born in Botetourt County on June 6, 1902, a daughter of the late Griffin Wyman Trent and Lula Maude Harris Trent. She was the widow of Oscar Wright Dooley and was a member of Peaksview Christian Church. She is survived by a son, John P. Dooley; four daughters, Katherine D. Spradlin, Frances D. Carter, Mae D. Bennett, and Doris D. Bowyer, all of Bedford; a sister, Elsie T. Stanley, Roanoke; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 16, 1995, at 11 a.m. in the Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Earl Ragland and the Rev. Jeffrey W. Clemmons officiating. HUFF, Lawrence Edward, (``Buck""), 55, of Blacksburg, died Monday, March 13, 1995, in Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was preceded in death by his father, Carlyn Dallas Huff. MILLER, Francis Pate, 56, of Rt. 2, Mouth-of-Wilson, Va. died Sunday, March 12, 1995, at Waddell Nursing Home in Galax, Va. Mrs. Miller was born in Burnsville, N.C. on May 5, 1938, to Uriah Rice and Bessie Street Pate. She is survived by her husband, John D. PRICE, James Edmund, (``Jim''), 45, of Roanoke, and formerly of Miami, Fla., died Tuesday, March 14, 1995, at his residence after a long illness. Surviving are his parents, Frederick W. Price, Sr. and Elsa E. (Betty) Price, Roanoke; his brothers, Frederick W. Price, Jr., and Stephen A. Price, both of Roanoke; niece, Allyson Price, Roanoke; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; plus his good friends Wayne Robertson and Frank Wooten, Key West, Fla., Tom McLean, Nashville, Tenn., Wanda Cannon, Cummings, Ga., and partner Carl R. (Randy) Stano, Miami, Fla. James worked in the classified advertising department of the Miami Herald as a salesman before going on disability. Before that he was an Assistant Manager for DANSK and Food Service Manager for The Pier House in Key West, a regional sales representative for Philip Morris Co. in Atlanta and a branch manager for Mountain Trust Bank in Roanoke. Funeral services will be at Oakey's South Chapel, 11 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 1995, with the Rev. Harold C. Lewis, the Rev. J. Landon Maddex and Chaplain Claudio Consuegra M.S. officiating. REGGIA, Frank, 73, of Roanoke, died Monday, March 13, 1995, in a local hospital. Born October 30, 1921, in Northumberland, Pa. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Mr. Reggia graduated Cum Laude from Bucknell University, Lewisburg, Pa. with a BS in Electrical Engineering and in 1971 he received a MS in Electrical Engineering also from Bucknell University. He was a speaker at the 1962 NATO Microwave Conference in Paris, a speaker at the 1964 International Conference of Microwave Circuitry in Tokyo and at the 1966 International Conference of Magnetics in Stuttgart. He was an author and co-author of over 50 articles to various professional journals and was awarded 22 patents. In 1967 he was elected a Fellow of the IEEE, a recognition given only for outstanding contributions to electrical and electronic engineering. His citation was for contributions to Microwave Ferrite Technology. He was elected a Fellow of the Academy of Science in 1971 and a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He is a past chairman of the Washington Chapter of the IEEE Group on Microwave Theory and Techniques and a member of the Editorial Board for the IEEE-GMTT Transactions for ten years. Mr Reggia moved to Roanoke when he reti red in 1978. He served as Business Manager for the Cardinal Chorus, 1982 until 1989. He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and served as Vice President of the groups South West Virginia Area VI from 1993 to 1995. He was a member of Southview United Methodist Church, Tau Beta Pi fraternity, the National Rifle Association, the Disabled American Veterans, VFW Post #1264 and the American Legion. He was listed in Who's Who in America. Surviving are his wife, Betty Patterson Reggia; sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. James A. and Carol Reggia, Columbia, Md., Daniel L. and Alice Reggia, Gaithersburg, Md.; four grandchildren; sister, Nancy Kistner; brother, John Reggia, both of Northumberland, Pa. Funeral services will be conducted 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Oakey's North Chapel by the Rev. George M. Pearson, Jr. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. SNAPP, Blanche Miller, 93, of Hampton, died Friday, March 3, 1995, in Regency Health Care Center in York County. Mrs. Snapp, the former Blanche Miller and widow of the late Robert M. Snapp, was a native of Chilhowie. Much of her lifetime was spent in Roanoke and Saltville, after which she relocated to Hampton in 1986. She is survived by nine nieces and nephews, Mary Lois Foster and Jack Brittingham of Hampton and Newport News, Ann Miller Berlin of Tallahassee, Fla., Mary Jo Van Cleaf of Roanoke, Julius Kindervater, Chattanooga, Tenn., Robert and Neal Kindervater, Elizabethtown, Ky., Christine Spaulding, Bardstown, Ky., and Carolyn Dupuy of Fla.
