Metaphysics seminar

A seminar to introduce to Western Virginians the beliefs of the Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research is scheduled April 8 at noon at Holiday Inn-Tanglewood.

The three-hour program will feature charts to explain the teachings of the group based in Virginia Beach with other congregations in the Northern Virginia and Richmond areas. The institute is a non-profit, non-denominational religious group which uses the original Hebrew name of Yahweh for God. It was founded in 1931 by Henry C. Kinley.

A distinctive belief of the group is that the world will end in 1996. A spokesman for the group, Raymond Hunley, said adherents represent several races and ethnic groups.

The Altar of Prayer singers will be featured at the Saturday morning session also, and a "Take the Land" rally is planned from 2 to 4 p.m. All sessions are free and open to the public.
