MEN FORCE WAY INTO APARTMENT; VICTIM TIED UP

A 21-year-old Northeast Roanoke woman was bound and gagged by three men who broke into her apartment and tried to rob her early Tuesday.

Police gave this account: A man knocked on the woman's door about 1:10 a.m. and asked for someone who did not reside at her home, in the 2000 block of Tinker Drive.

About five minutes later, another man came to the door, claimed he was a police officer and told her to open the door. The victim opened the door a bit, and two men dressed in black and wearing gloves forced their way inside. A third man also entered. They bound and gagged the woman and asked for money and jewelry. The victim said she had none

The woman, who was pregnant, was kicked in the stomach by her attackers. She was treated at Community Hospital of Roanoke Valley and released.
