WYTHE WOMAN DIES AFTER DRIVING CAR INTO HOUSE

A Wythe County woman was killed Friday evening when she lost control of her car and it slammed into a house.

Hope L. Grywacz, 37, was driving down a service road just south of Virginia 783 in the Grand Forge area when she ran off the left side of the road. The car hit the house, then went down an embankment, state police said.

The Max Meadows resident was pronounced dead at Wythe Community Hospital.

Grywacz, who was not wearing a seat belt, was the only person in the car. Residents of the home were not injured, police said. Police did not say why Grywacz lost control of the vehicle.
