DALESSANDRO, Madeline Bowles, 84, of Salem, died Wednesday, August 2, 1995. She was a life long Salem resident and a member of Salem Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband Andrew ``Ponzi"" Dalessandro and a daughter, Delia Anita Elliott. Survivors include two daughters, Louisa D. and husband, Robert C. Weaver Sr. of Greensboro, N.C., Madeline D. Wright of Roanoke; grandchildren, John and Jim Elliott of Orlando, Fla., Lisa Reed and Robert Weaver Jr., Andrew Joseph Weaver, John David Weaver, all of Greensboro, N.C., Susan Corbett and Andy Wright of Salem; six great-grandchildren; nieces, Margaret Jeffus Thompson, Holly Jeffus, both of Greensboro, N.C., Colleen Marie Moore of Upper Marlboro, Md. FRAVEL, Mark Rosen, of Miramar, Fla., died Friday, July 28, 1995, at his home. He was the son of the late Robert R. Fravel Jr. and George Anna Rosen Fravel. Mark was a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church of Roanoke. He is survived by his paternal grandmother, Rhoene S. Fravel; his mother and three brothers, Gary R. Fravel, Michael K. Fravel and Douglas M. Fravel. There will be a private burial at Old Providence A.R. Herman Sr.. Mrs. Herman is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Berlin E. and Sylvia Herman Jr. of Galax; two sisters, Madolene F. Ward of Hot Springs, and Rosemary F. Turner of Ocean City, N.J.; two brothers, Donald Farnsworth of Fallbrook, Calif., and Fred T. Farnsworth of Indian Lake Estates, Fla; sister-in-law, Louise H. Farnsworth of Richmond; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. LAVENDER, James Pleas, (``Pug""), 75, of Roanoke, died Thursday, August 3, 1995. He was a member of the D.A.V., Roanoke Moose Lodge, and was a retired Sergeant in the U.S. Army with 22 years service. He is survived by his wife, Roberta Mae Thompson Lavender; son, James Owen (Jimmy) Lavender; daughters, Patricia Madwell, Betty Jean Crouch Smith; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Rev. LINCOLN, Clara Brizendine, 83, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 1995. Funeral Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, 1:30 p.m. Friday.

McNULTY, Charles See Jr., 80, of Roanoke, died Thursday, August 3, 1995, at the Va. Medical Center, Salem after a brief illness. A veteran of WWII, he served in the 23rd Infantry Division and received the Purple Heart and Soldiers Medal for ""Daring Actions and devotion to duties"". He retired in 1977 from the City of Roanoke after 11 years as Real Estate Assessor. He was an MAI member of the Appraisal Institute, past President of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers, a graduate of Va. Episcopal School and the University of Northern Colorado. A civic activist, he founded and supported a variety of service projects as a director of HELP Inc. He was member of VFW Post 1264. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years Louise Glenn McNulty. He is survived by three children, William A. McNulty, Vinton, Charles See McNulty III, Harrisonburg and Glenn McNulty Bearfoot, Wilmington, N.C.; and also by his brother, Col. William A. McNulty, Roanoke; and six grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, Roanoke on Sunday, August 6, 1995 at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends in the parish hall after the service.

PARCELL, Irvin N., 78, of Rich Creek, died Thursday, August 3, 1995, at his home. He was born December 26, 1916 at Crumpler, W. Va. and was the son of the late Albert Wesley and Elsie Hamblin Parcell. Mr. Parcell was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Rich Creek, Va. and was retired fro Hoechst-Celanese Corp. in Narrows, Va., where he had worked in the Preparation Dept. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Therrie Ann, four brothers and two sisters. Surviving is his wife, Ernestine Stafford Parcell, Rich Creek; two sons, Gerald Stafford Parcell, Pearisburg, Tony Parcell, Narrows; one daughter, Pamela Parcell Lucas, Maynardville, Tenn.; one brother, Clayton Parcell, Staffordsville; one sister, Argie Spangler, Pearisburg; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was a graduate of Andrew Lewis High School and Radford University. He was a member of Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Salem. He was preceded in death by his parents, H. Elbyrne and Ruth B. Roberts; nephew, Aaron Q. Davis. Survivors include his wife, Julie McGuire Roberts; children, Jonathan Tyler Roberts, Timothy Paul Roberts, Sarah Adele Roberts, Matthew David Roberts, all of the home; brother, Hugh E. ROMANO, Ciro Gaetano, 29, of Roanoke, went to be with his Father in Heaven, on Wednesday, August 2, 1995. He and his wife, Suzanne, own and operate Ciro's Italian Restaurant (4830 Hollins Rd.). Mr. Romano received his education in Naples, Italy, and became a proud American citizen on September 17, 1993. He was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Romano; and a son, Anthony Romano. Leaving behind to mourn his passing are his beloved wife, Suzanne Romano; three daughters, Monica, Angela, and Starr; a son, Dominick; his mother, Antoinette Boccia; and a brother and four sisters in Naples, Italy. SELDEN, George C. Sr., 92, of Bedford, departed this life Wednesday, August 2, 1995, at the Bedford Memorial Hospital. He was a member and a senior deacon at the Lovely Zion Baptist church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Selden. Survivor include two daughter, Alice Charity, Frederick, Md., Evelyn Scott, Roanoke; two sons, George C. Selden Jr. and Robert Selden, both of Bedford; one sister, Catherine James, Columbus, Ohio; two sons-in-law, John Charity, Frederick, Md., William Scott, Roanoke; two daughters-in-law, Maxine O. VAUGHAN, Mrs. Sarah Carr, of Crewe, died Thursday, August 3, 1995. She was the widow of Holmes A. Vaughan and was born in Tuberville, Halifax County, on March 2, 1901. She lived most of her life in the Crewe area. She is survived by daughters, Frances V. Garland, Roanoke, Elizabeth V. Pritchett, Dallas, Texas, Lucy V.
