DIRECT-MAILER SUES NORTH OVER DEBT

A direct-mail firm has filed a lawsuit against Oliver North seeking more than $73,000 in unpaid bills from North's failed 1994 U.S. Senate campaign.

K&K Enterprises Inc. of Lynchburg filed a motion for judgment Friday in Lynchburg Circuit Court. It seeks $73,574.23 in unpaid bills and interest from the Oliver North for U.S. Senate Committee and American Target Advertising Inc. of Annandale.

K&K Enterprises has not been paid for mailings it sent out as a subcontractor for American Target Advertising, which was retained by the North committee, said K&K Enterprises attorney Mark J. Peake.

Calls to the North committee, its law firm and American Target Advertising were not immediately returned Tuesday.
