MAN RAMS VEHICLE WITH MO-PED, DIES

A Martinsville man died Wednesday shortly after his mo-ped struck a four-wheel-drive vehicle.

Harold Bruce Elliott Jr., 60, was traveling west in the right lane on Virginia 57 near Virginia 606 when he attempted to change lanes and ran into the vehicle, a state police dispatcher said.

The accident happened just before 1 p.m. Elliott died 20 minutes later at Memorial Hospital.
