PASSENGER INJURED IN DRIVE-UP SHOOTING

A drive-up restaurant customer shot a passenger in the car behind him after the car's driver honked the horn, police said.

Dennie Carl Noble IV, 23, of Portsmouth, was arrested for wounding Gary Pace, of Suffolk, early Friday morning at a Dairy Queen in Suffolk.

Police said Noble received his order and pulled away from the drive-up window - but not far enough to allow the next car to reach the window. The driver of the vehicle carrying Pace blew the horn.

Noble ``got out of his vehicle and walked back to the car,'' said Mike Simpkins, a Suffolk police spokesman. ``When he got to the window, he started shooting into the car with a 9mm handgun.''
