AGNEW, Eunice Johnston, 68, of Blacksburg, died Monday, October 23, 1995, at Roanoke Memorial Rehabilitation Center. She was the daughter of the late Leroy W. and Irma Estelle Morris Johnston, and the widow of the late Henry L. Agnew, w hom she was married to for 42 years. She was also preceded in death by her brother: Paul Johnston, and a sister: Mary J. Davis. Mrs. Agnew was a member of the Centennial Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) since 1944. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law: Bennie and Carolyn Agnew, and Joseph (Joe) and Teresa Agnew, both of Blacksburg; one granddaughter: Sarah Ann Agnew, Blacksburg; one step-grandson: Randal Shawn Gulliams, Yuma, AZ; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Lois J. Morehead, Thelma and Jack Lafon, all of Blacksburg; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Kenneth and Ruth Johnston, McCoy, Hueston and Bobbie Johnston, Blacksburg, Morris (Cooper) and Hazel Johnston, Port St. Lucie, FL; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Joyce and Marshall Oliver, and Madge and Kenneth Neel, all of Blacksburg; A great number of nieces and nephews; special friends: Barbara Flinchum, Louise Shaver, Hazel Albert, and Zinna Hodge, all of Blacksburg. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 26, 1995, at 1 p.m., at Centennial Christian Church, McCoy, with Rev. Gordon Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Centennial Christian Church, P.O. Box 387, McCoy, 24111, or to the Blacksburg Rescue Squad, 200 Progress Street, N.E., Blacksburg, 24060. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home.

ALBERT, Gloria Vaccaro, 67, of Moneta, died Sunday, October 22, 1995, at her residence. She was born in New York, N.Y., on October 23, 1927, a daughter of the late Santo Vaccaro and Mildred Baialardo Vaccaro. She is survived by her husband, William N. Albert, Moneta; two sons, Jason Slawson, New York, N.Y., and Evan Slawson, Hollywood, Calif.; one daughter, San Slawson, Agoura Hills, Calif.; one sister, Joan Visceglia, Riverdale, N.Y., and one brother, San Vaccaro, Newport Beach, Calif. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 26, 1995, at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Mr. Francis J. Ports officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.

ARMSTRONG, Hubert Lee Jr., 71, of Lexington, died Tuesday, October 24, 1995, in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born in Clifton Forge July 23, 1924, he was the son of the late Hubert Lee Armstrong Sr. and Blanche Ballard Armstrong. Mr. Armstrong was a member of Poplar Hill Presbyterian Church and was a retired electrician for Virginia Military Institute with 23 years service. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Sorrells Armstrong, Lexington; daughter and son-in-law, Gloria A. and Barry O'Donnell, Blacksburg; son and daughter-in-law, Hubert J. and Nadine Armstrong, Lexington; one sister, Doris Williams, Lexington; two brothers, Palmer Armstrong, Clifton Forge, Harold Conner, Lexington; four grandchildren, Jason and David O'Donnell, Nathan and Lisa Armstrong. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, October 27, 1995, at 11 a.m. from the Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Kip Caldwell and the Rev. Woody Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Lexington First Aid Crew. COLES, Yvonne Cecilia Porter, 57, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, October 22, 1995. Funeral services 11 a.m. Wednesday at Deliverance Church Ministries, with the Rev. Lorraine Alston officiating. EASLEY, Bessie Bradburn, 81, of Roanoke, passed away Saturday, October 21, 1995. Survivors include her daughter, Nannie Mae Easley; sisters, Mrs. Susie B. Clark, Roanoke, Mrs. Louis B. Belhumeur, Queens, New York; one grandchild, Antonio Easley; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Audrey B. Bradburn; three very devoted nieces, Brenda C. Jordan, Joyce R. Clark and Rose J. Clark, all of Roanoke; a loving nephew, Robert Bradburn; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fizer Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. J. A. HARRIS, Roy Denton, 65, of Radford, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 1995. He had been self employed as a truck driver for over 20 years, and was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. Survivors include two sons, Roy D. Harris Jr., Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Eddie Harris, Radford; four grandchildren, Kathy Brad, Megan and Zachary Harris. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 26, at 11 a.m. at the Seaver-Sanders & Mullins Funeral Home in Radford, with Pastor Jerry Gibson officiating. JONES, Walter Joseph, 84, of Tazewell, died Monday, October 23, 1995 in a Wytheville, Va. hospital. He was a son of the late Charles W. and Gertrude Foster Jones. A native of Tazewell, Va., he was a life-long member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Tazewell, where he had served as Administrative Board Member, Trustee, Sunday School Teacher, and member of various other committees. He attended Emory and Henry College. He served in the Southwest Pacific During World War II with the U. S. Air Corps, then as General Manager of Keys Planing Mill in Bluefield, Va. and retired as President and General Manager of Bluegrass Oils, Inc. of Tazewell. He was a member of the Barnes-Beavers V.F.W. Post #7136, the Sidney Coulling American Legion Post $133 and the Rotary Club, all of Tazewell. Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Greever Jones; three sisters, Ruth J. Lynch of Newport News, Ida Hamlett of Kingsport, Tenn. and Catherine J. Hobbs of Gainesville, Va.; four nephews and six nieces. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 26, 1995 at the Main Street United Methodist Church, with Dr. Don Scott officiating. Burial will follow at the Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, Va. Friends may call at Peery & St.Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 1995. MOREFIELD, Wilburn F., of New Castle, formerly of Portsmouth, died Tuesday, October 24, 1995, at the VA Medical Center, Salem. He is survived by his wife, Joel; three daughters, Linda Kay Mercer, Charlotte Faulkner, both of Portsmouth, Pamela Jo Smithson, Chesapeake; one son, Robert D. Morefield, Portsmouth; two sisters, Verna Mae Greer, Vinton, Kate Walker, Neva, Tenn. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at Boitnott Funeral Home, New Castle, Wednesday, October 25. Burial will be in Portsmouth, Friday, October 27, 1995.

NAFF, Emily Johnson, 45, of Roanoke, passed away Monday, October 23, 1995 from breast cancer. She was a manager of the US Postal Service. OVERSTREET, Elizabeth Otey, 90, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 1995. She was the widow of Herbert Lucas Overstreet and a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
