IN SERVICE

Marine Lance Cpl. Mark Pratt of Dublin was recently designated a plane captain while serving with Marine Helicopter Training Squadron 204, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Corps Air Station New River, Jacksonville, N.C. He will be responsible for the flight readiness and preflight inspection of an individual aircraft.

Pratt graduate from Pulaski County High School in 1994 and joined the Marines in August 1994.

He is the son of Mark and Susan Pratt of Draper.

Army Sgt. 1st Class Scott Beane has re-enlisted after 12 years of military service. Beane is an infantry instructor at Fort Sill, Okla. A 1979 graduate of Blacksburg High School, he is the son of Winston and Priscilla Beane of Blacksburg.

Chris Wolfe of Christiansburg has left for Fort Knox, Ky., where he will begin basic training with the U.S. Army as an armor crewman. Wolfe, a 1995 graduate of Christiansburg High School, is the son of Don and Julie Wolfe of Christiansburg.

Airman Natasha Stephenson recently graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Stephenson is a 1995 graduate of Pulaski High School. She is the daughter of Virginia Robinson and stepdaughter of John Robinson of Pulaski.

Marine Pvt. Larry Thomas recently completed 11 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

Thomas graduated from Radford High School in 1995. He is the son of Larry Thomas Sr. of Radford and Debbie Covey of Hiwassee.
