Soon we will celebrate Valentine's Dayi, that special day for that special someone. However, that special person can be a best friend. It can be the boy down the street, it can be your grandmother who bakes cookies for you or your dad who builds tree houses. It can even be your pet, who is always there for you and never gives advice you don't want.
We want you to draw a picture that you would want to give to your best friend for Valentine's Day. In addition, tell us why this person is special to you.
Drawings must be on 8- by 11-inch paper. We will not accept drawings on larger or smaller paper. Crayons, magic markers, colored pencils, paint or any other method can be used.
Writings are limited to one page and can be in a poem or just a few sentences.
Submissions are limited to school children in grades kindergarten to 8th-grade. Your name, school, grade and teacher must be on the back of the drawing. Drawings and writtings MUST BE ORIGINAL. Deadline is 5 p.m. Friday Feb. 2.
