Ayers-Campbell

Pamela Karen Campbell and Clarence Richard Ayers were married Jan. 20, 1996 in a private ceremony. The bride is the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Walter C. Martin, Jr. She attended William Byrd High School and is employed by Lancer. The groom is the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Daniel T. Ayers. He is emplolyed by Advance Auto Dist. The newylweds will reside in Vinton.

Cooley-Whitehead

Nicole Lee Whitehead and Patrick Michael Cooley were married November 25, 1995 in Mess iah United Methodist Church. Rev. Ken Whetzel and Rev. Thomas Clark officiated. The bride's attendants were Jennifer St.John, Traudi Walker, Tricia Madding, Audra Cox and Michelle Burkett. Ashley Mills was the flowergirl. Groomsmen were 1Lt. Eric Teegerstrom, Cpt. Brent Campbell, Cpt. Hugo Lentze, Rob Scott, and Ted Cooley, brother of the groom. Luke Cox was the ringbearer. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Whitehead of Springfield and is a graduate of Northern Arizona University. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Cooley of Roanoke and is a graduate of USMA at West Point and is a Captain in the US Army. The newlyweds enjoyed a Caribbean Cruise and are stationed at Ft. Knox, Ky.

Fitzgerald-Dunahoo

Sharon M. Dunahoo and Lawrence F. Fitzgerald were united in a service of Christian marriage in Fairview United Methodist Church on February 3, 1996. Pastor Robert M. Chapman officiated. The reception was held at the Lake Drive Swim Club.

The bride was escorted and given in marriage by Paul C. Bernard, a close friend of the bride. Maid of honor was Tina M. Jennings, daughter of the bride. The best man was William J. Fitzgerald, Jr. brother of the groom. The ushers were Jerry Dunahoo, son of the bride, and Shawn Jennings, son-in-law of the bride. The guest book was attended by Mrs. Marlo Dunahoo, daughter-in-law of the bride; and the photography was by Robert Leftwich.

The bride wore a candlelight satin dress trimmed with schiffli lace, designed for her by Fashions By Design.

The bride is the daughter of the late James E. Lynskey and the late Hazel Lynskey of Roanoke. She is employed by Concrete Pipe & Products.

The groom is the son of Jennie E. Colburn of New Port Ritchie, Florida, and the late William J. Fitzgerald, Sr. of Lake Placid, New York. He is employed by Bell Industries.

The newlyweds will live in Roanoke County.

Fresina-Ayers

Leigh Ann Ayers and Michael John Fresina were married December 16, 1995 in Davidson College Presbyterian Church, Davidson, N.C. Rev. Will Terry was the officiating clergyman. The reception was held at River Run Country Club in Davidson, N.C.

Kathryn Ayers, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Allyson Ayers, sister of the bride; Julie Fresina, sister of the groom; and Stacey Sullens, friend of the bride. John Michael Fresina served as his son's best man. The ushers were John DeGange, cousin of the groom; Chris Edmonston and David Svenson, friends of the groom. Readers were Dr. Gill Holland and Dr. William Jacobs.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald M. Ayers of Roanoke. She is a graduate of Patrick Henry High School and Davidson College. The bride is employed by Charlotte Country Day School as middle school teacher and coach. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Fresina of Lexington, Mass. He is a graduate of Matignon High School in Cambridge, Mass., and Davidson College. The bridegroom is a teacher and coach at Charlotte Country Day High School.

The newlyweds are living in Charlotte, N.C., after the wedding trip to Sparta, N.C.

Gallagher-Mabes

Jeannie Lee Mabes and Joseph Robert Gallagher were married during a candlelight ceremony on Saturday, January 27, 1996, 6:00 p.m. at Ridgewood Baptist Church with Reverend Nelson Harris officiating the double ring ceremony.

Becky Sue Mabes, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Nicole Holdren of Salem, Beth Basham of Salem, Denise Morris of Roanoke, and Kathy Corso of Baltimore, Maryland. The groom's friend, Chad Wright, was best man. The groomsmen were Dave Sink of Roanoke and Patrick Gallagher, brother of groom of Baltimore, Maryland. Guestbook attendant was Christy Morrison of Salem. Coordinator was Barbara Hudson of Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania, aunt of the groom. Music was presented by Becky Mummau, pianist, and Ted Lancaster, soloist, friend of the bride. Photography was done by Jim Markey.

The bride is the daughter of Don and Jean Mabes of Salem. She graduated from Salem High School and attended Virginia Western Community College and the College of Health Sciences. She is employed by Olsten Home Services.

The groom is the son of Diane and Sam Corso of Daleville and Joseph and Janet Gallagher of Baltimore, Maryland. He is a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School and East Tennessee State University. He is employed by Yokohama Tire Plant in Salem as a supervisor. The couple will reside in Roanoke.

Kirk-Hayes

Cambrai Shireen Hayes and John W. Kirk, III were married Saturday, January 20, 1996 at Second Presbyterian Church in Roanoke, Virginia, with Reverend William Klein and Reverend Tom Stocks officiating. The reception was held at the Shenandoah Club.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. H. Desmond Hayes of Norfolk, Virginia. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Kirk, Jr. of Roanoke. The bride is an attorney at Glenn, Flippin, Feldman n and Darby in Roanoke. The groom is President of Fuel Oil and Equipment Co., Inc.

The couple will reside in Roanoke

Perdue-Beck

Carol G. Beck and Dennis C. Perdue were married December 28, 1995 in a civil ceremony officiated by Judge Murray A. Toller, JP. The reception was held at the home of the bridegroom. The matron of honor was Jean Roberts. Bridesmaids were Amy Beck and Megan Beck, daughters of the bride. The best man was Aubrey Roberts, cousin of the groom. The bride is a daughter of Jack and Grace Nansen of Ballwin, Missouri. The bridegroom is a son of Charles and Dorothy Perdue of Roanoke. The newlyweds will live in Botetourt County after the wedding trip to Ballwin, Missouri.
