ASBURY, Robert Lee, 60, of Christiansburg, died Friday, February 23, 1996. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mabel Asbury of Charleston, W.Va. Surviving are one daughter, Karen Asbury McCann of Christiansburg, and a grandson, Christopher Michael McCann of Christiansburg. A memorial service will be held at Richardson-Horne Funeral Home Chapel at 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, conducted by the Rev. Dennis Martin. ASBURY, Susan Mullins, 44, of 223 Fairfax Point, Blacksburg, formerly of Tazewell, Va., died Friday, February 23, 1996 at her home. She was born at Iaeger, W.Va. and was a daughter of Frances Walker Mullins of Tazewell, Va. and the late William Harvey Mullins. She had made her home in the New River Valley area for the past 15 years. She was an eligibility worker for Carilion Health Systems at Roanoke Community Hospital and worked in the Human Services field for the past twenty years in Virginia and West Virginia. She was a graduate of Tazewell High School, Class of 1969. She was followed in death by her husband, Robert Asbury and preceded in death by her father, William Harvey Mullins. Survivors include one daughter, Miss Melanie Davis, Nickolsville; one son, Joshua Goudy, Blacksburg; one sister, Mrs. April Mullins Mela, Lynch Station; two brothers, Terry Walker Mullins, Tazewell, William Mark Mullins, Murrells Inlet, S.C.; and one grandchild, Diane Karnes. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, February 27, 1996 at 1 p.m. at Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Tazewell, Va., with the Rev. Rothell (Buddy) Wasson officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, W. Va. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Monday, February 26, 1996. BARTLETT, Virginia Jewett, 80, of Richmond, formerly of Roanoke, died Sunday, February 25, 1996. She is survived by her husband, Hugh R. Bartlett; daughter, Susan B. Wilson; sons and their wives, William H. and Linda Bartlett, Lewis D. and Sherrie Bartlett, Charles E. and Anne Bartlett, K. Wayne and Faye Bartlett, and David J. and Janis Bartlett; 16 grandchild ren, seven great-grandchildren, and a nephew, Michael Griffith. Her remains rest at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, Richmond, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will be in Dale Memorial Park. BLACK, Leonard C., 100, of Roanoke, died Sunday, February 25, 1996. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Howard Jeter of North Huntingdon, Pa.; three grandchildren, James M. Jeter and Matthew K. Jeter of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mark A. Jeter of North Huntingdon, Pa.; a brother, Cecil P. Black of Roanoke, and two sisters, Mrs. Opal Gillock of Roanoke and Mrs. Dorothy Phillippe of Staunton. CHAPLIN, Beulah M., 91, of Buena Vista, died Saturday, February 24, 1996 in the Shenandoah Valley Health Care Center. Born March 21, 1904 in Rockbridge County, Va., she was the daughter of the late John T. and Phoebe Wilhelm Chaplin. She was a member of the Buena Vista Ba ptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years. She was retired from Bernson Silk Mill as a cloth inspector. She is survived by three nieces, Gladys Coffey, Grace Wagnor and Virginia Wagnor, all of Buena Vista; two nephews, Melvin Chaplin and Donald Chaplin, both of Buena Vista; one sister-in-law, Ruby Chaplin, Buena Vista. The funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, February 27, 1996 at 2 p.m. at the Lomax Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Chip L. Pendleton officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. HARDY, William David, Sr., 73, of Bedford, died Sunday, February 25,1996 at Lynchburg General Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Keeling, Va. on October 30, 1922, a son of the late Vester W. and Mattie White Hardy. Mr. Hardy was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of Bedford Baptist Church and was retired from the Virginia State Police. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hall Hardy; one son, William David Hardy, Jr. and wife Helen, Bedford; three daughters, Gale H. Spence, Lynchburg, Jo Ann Cadiero and husband Gregg, Bedford, Janet Hardy, Bedford; four sisters, Lettie Turner, Danville, Lorena Adams and Betty McLaughlin, Keeling, Audrey Walker, Ringgold; two brothers, Alton Hardy, Keeling, Earl Walton, Danville; also surviving are five grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 1996, at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. David L. Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. HICKOK, Frances A.Dunn, 86, of Peterstown, W. Va., died Saturday, February 24,1996. Funeral 11 a.m. Tuesday at Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, Peterstown.

HILL, Robert Lloyd, 67, of Route 1, Moneta, died Saturday, February 24, 1996, in Lewis-Gale Hospital. He was born in Flemington, N.J., on August 30, 1928, a son of the late Edward Hill and Emma Castner Hill. Mr. Hill was a communicant of Resurrection Catholic Church in Moneta. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Regina Mullen Hill; two daughters, Nancy Regina Hill of Flemington, N.J., and Janet Crine of Washington, N.J.; two sons, Robert Lee Hill of Phillipsburg, N.J., and Thomas Hill of Forest; three sisters, Freda Corona of Lambertville, N.J., Lucy Vail of Neshanic, N.J., and Dorothy Tange of Flemington, N.J.; one brother, Donald Hill of Flemington, N.J.; two grandsons, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 28, 1996, at the Resurrection Catholic Church in Moneta, with the Rev. James J. Begley officiating. LINDAMOOD, Fred A., 85, of Rural Retreat, died Saturday, February 24, 1996 in the Birdmont Health Care Center in Wytheville, Va. He was born in Rural Retreat, the son of the late Elbert Mason and Margaret Dutton Lindamood. He was a prominent Wythe County farmer and cattle dealer, co-owner of the Rural Retreat Land Company and auctioneer for the Wytheville Livestock Market for 45 years. Mr. Lindamood served as Mayor of the Town of Rural Retreat from 1952 to 1954 and served as chairman of the Democratic Party (1960 - 1962 & 1965). He was a lifelong member of the Rural Retreat United Methodist Church, where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for 32 years (1958 - 1990), served on the Board of Stewards, a Certified Lay Speaker and chairman of the Wythe County Lord's Acre Association. He is survived by his wife, Margaret M. Lindamood, of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Ralph Stidham of Roswell, Ga.; one granddaughter, Jill Christina Stidham of Roswell, Ga.; two sisters, Helen Stinson of Talbotton, Ga., Ina Vaught of Wytheville; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 27, 1996, at 11 a.m. at the Rural Retreat United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert Countiss and the Rev. George Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church one hour before service time. The family will receive friends at the Lindsey Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday or at the residence at any time. MARTIN, Carson William, 87, of Chilhowie, died Sunday, February 25, 1996 at the Smyth County Community Hospital. He is survived by a sister, Ruby Galliher of Marion; and several nieces and nephews. MARTIN, Macie Juanita, 62, of Pearisburg, died Sunday, February 25, 1996, at her home. Ms. Martin was born on April 9, 1933, in Giles County, and was a daughter of the late Ivan James and Pauline Green Martin. Ms. Martin was a retired employee of the Virginia Lime Company with 36 years of service, and was a member of the Angels Rest Rebecca Lodge #72. She is survived by one sister, Ms. Deborah G. Martin of Pe arisburg. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 1996, at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg, with the Rev. Shahn Wilburn officiating. NEWMAN, Quinnie Cooper, 94, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, February 25, 1996. She was the widow of John R. Newman and a member of the Belmont Baptist Church. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, William M. Sr. and Jenny Newman of York, S.C.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Also, a number of nieces and nephews survive. Graveside services will be in the Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton, at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Wayne Harrison officiating. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.

OGLE, Thelma Edwards, 68, of Route 2, Max Meadows, died Sunday, February 25, 1996, in the Wythe County Community Hospital. She was born in Carroll County, the daughter of the late Millard M. and Rhoda Irene Edwards. She taught for 39 years in the Wythe County School System, which included Barren Springs, Patterson, Casselton, Austinville and Jackson Memorial Elementary Schools. She was a member of the Poplar Camp Church of God of Prophecy for 43 years, teaching Sunday School for over 30 years. Also, she served as Sunday School superintendent, leader of the Bible Trainer Institute, member of the nursing home ministry and care leader at church. She served as president of the Barren Springs Senior Citizens. She is survived by her husband, M. Cecil Ogle of the home; one son, Jackie Cecil Ogle of Gray, Tenn.; one sister, Eula Mae Parnell of Bassett; two brothers, Therron Edwards of Route 2, Austinville, and Roy Lee Edwards of Route 2, Max Meadows; one special niece, Pauline Snow of Route 1, Barren Springs, and several other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 27, 1996, at 1 p.m. at the Poplar Camp Church of God of Prophecy, with the Rev. Larry Barnes officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethany Cemetery. The body will be taken to the Poplar Camp Church of God of Prophecy, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, or at the residence at any time. REYNOLDS, Andy Minor, 77, of Daleville, died Saturday, February 24, 1996 in a local nursing home. Mr. Reynolds was a member of Daleville Church of the Brethren and also attended Raleigh Court United Methodist Church. He attended Andrew Lewis High School in Salem. He was a retired Greyhound bus driver. After his retirement, he drove a school bus for Botetourt County Schools for several years. He also served in the U. S. Navy during World War II or the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Saratoga. Mr. Reynolds was born May 14, 1918 and was the last surviving child of the late Andrew Lewis and Retha Dora Wertz Reynolds of Salem, Va. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. He was also preceded in death by his first wife of 43 years, Estelle (``Toffie"") Carneal Reynolds, who died in 1980. Mr. Reynolds will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Sink Reynolds and his children and stepchildren and their spouses. They are Pat Reynolds Hellner and Michael, Chelsea, MI., Mary Reynolds Himes and Ben, Danbury, CT., Tommy and Judy Reynolds, Mechanicsville, Va., Johnny and Debby Reynolds, Roanoke, Kenny and Gislaine Sink, Mechanicsville, Va. and Curtis and Sue Sink, Chesterfield, Va. Mr. Reynolds is also survived by seven grandchildren. They are Gene Davidson Jr., Lisa Ives, Brent Himes, Phillip Reynolds, Angie R. Ryder, Heather R. Pace and Seth Reynolds. He also had eight stepgrandchildren, including Kathleen an Stephen Sink and Amanda Gay; and one great-grandch ild, Courtney Pace. He also had one special sister-in-law, Alice I. Reynolds of Salem and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Oakey's North Chapel, starting at 2 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Daleville Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Dan Barnum-Steggerda and the Rev. Irving Glover officiating. SHAVER, Esterlene Fariss, of Salem, died Sunday, February 25, 1996, at her home. She is survived by her husband, J. Emerson Shaver; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn S. and Larry Jones of Thomasville, N.C., and Teresa S. and Lewis Kanode Jr. of Bedford; her mother, Esther Wright Fariss of Salem; three sisters, Geraldine F. Pace of Salem, Virginia Powel and Nancy F. Stockerman of Roanoke, and fo ur grandchildren, Jamie C. Jones, Brooke A. Jones, Matthew A. Jones and Laurel C. Kanode. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, February 27, at the Lotz Salem Chapel, with Pastor Orlando Gonzalez and Pastor West Gillespie officiating. STAPLETON, Oakley Neal, 94, of 133 Circle Drive, Dublin, passed away Saturday, February 24, 1996, in Radford Community Hospital. Born on September 2, 1901, at Collinwood in Russell County, he was the son of the late William Madison Stapleton and Mary Virginia Mays Stapleton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Violet Booth Stapleton; two sisters, Nellie Kate Stapleton Glenn and Viola Stapleton Salyers, and two brothers, Ray Stapleton and Grover Stapleton. He was a member of Dublin United Methodist Church, where he served as a Sunday School superintendent and a member of the Administrative Board. He was a member of the Henry Clay Lodge #280 A.F.&A.M. of Dublin. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Claude (Ollie Mae) Osborne of Collinwood; two brothers, Henry Stapleton of Kingsport, Tenn., and Marzell Stapleton of Colonial Heights, Tenn., and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dublin United Methodist Church, with Dr. Charles C. Burnett, the Rev. Richard Patterson and the Rev. B. Frank Bauman officiating. Interment will follow in the Booth Family Cemetery in Wythe County, with graveside Masonic rites conducted by the Henry Clay Lodge #280 A.F.&A.M. of Dublin. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dublin United Methodist Church, where the family will receive friends until the time of service. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
