LIBRARY CONSTRUCTION IS ON SCHEDULE

Phase II construction at the Blacksburg area branch library is on schedule and will be finished in mid-August. This phase includes the adult fiction section, the children's room and the staff offices and workroom.

The library was closed for two weeks this spring when they moved to their new quarters and re-opened on March 25. All services, with the exception of children's programs and use of the meeting room, are available. All materials checked out for the extended loan period during the move are now due.

The new entrance is accessible from Preston Avenue.

The 1996 Summer Reading Program at the Blacksburg branch wil be offered on a limited basis. There are several outside events (weather permitting) scheduled for this summer. Call or visit your local branch library for a brochure of specific activities planned for the summer reading program. Children may participate in activities at any of the three branches of the Montgomery-Floyd Regional Library or the Montgomery County or Floyd County Bookmobile.
