A 74-year-old Franklin County man was killed Wednesday afternoon in a tractor accident near his home.
Jack P. Fisher of Callaway was mowing grass with a bush hog about 4:30 when he got off the tractor to check something behind him, an eyewitness told police.
The tractor started moving forward and Fisher ran to catch up with it. He either fell under the tractor or was pulled under it, police said. He died at the scene.
Fisher was cutting grass in a parking area at the Franklin County Speedway.
