Brooke Lloyd has lived in Narrows all her life and knows most of her classmates fairly well, which is why she says "everyone is friends ... we're a close class."

Lloyd, who will attend Virginia Tech in the fall to study psychology, has been leading a double life. For the past two years, she also attended Southwest Virginia Governor's School, where she spent the mornings. In the afternoons, she returned to Narrows. She said the schedule was tough at times because she often had to miss officer meetings - plus she always had lots of homework.

There have been several memorable events for the senior class, Lloyd said. The class had two senior skip days this year, one in the spring and one in the fall on the first day of hunting season. The former was the result of the class having done well on standardized tests.

Another big event was the Senior Variety Show. Seniors produced a various skits that include singing and dancing. Most were spoofs from commercials and TV commercials. The class song, Garth Brook's "The River," also was included in the show.
